Terms of Service

Last updated: July 31, 2026

1. Agreement and Eligibility

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the AnRouter website, dashboard, API gateway, documentation, payment features, support, subscriptions, and related services (the “Services”). By creating an account, purchasing credits or a plan, clicking to accept, or using an API key, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 18 years old, have legal capacity to enter into this agreement, and comply with the laws that apply to you. If you use the Services for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it; “you” then includes that organization and its authorized users.

If you do not agree or cannot lawfully use the Services, do not access them.

2. The Services

AnRouter is an API gateway that authenticates, translates, routes, and bills requests to third-party AI model providers. We may add, remove, replace, or reroute models, providers, endpoints, regions, and features as availability, quality, cost, security, or law changes.

Compatibility endpoints translate supported request and response fields; they do not guarantee feature-for-feature identity with every upstream API or SDK version. Model names, context limits, modalities, parameters, latency, safety behavior, and output quality may differ by route. You are responsible for testing the exact endpoint and model used by your application.

References to a provider or model do not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or partnership unless expressly stated.

3. Accounts, Organizations, and API Keys

  • Provide accurate, current information and keep your account contact channel available for security and service notices.
  • Keep passwords and API keys confidential. Do not publish keys, place secret keys in browser or mobile client code, or share credentials outside your authorized organization.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account and keys, including activity by employees, contractors, applications, customers, and other authorized users.
  • Apply available key permissions, limits, and rotation controls. Revoke a lost or exposed key promptly and notify us of suspected unauthorized access.
  • You may not create accounts or rotate identities to evade a suspension, geographic restriction, usage limit, payment obligation, or security control.

4. Model Providers and Their Terms

Third-party model providers control their models and may impose separate acceptable-use, geographic, industry, content, intellectual-property, and data-handling terms (“Provider Terms”). Provider Terms may change. Your continued use of a model is subject to the Provider Terms then applicable to that model.

You are responsible for selecting a model and route suitable for your legal, security, privacy, quality, and compliance requirements. Some models may be unavailable to particular people, organizations, countries, or use cases. You must not use proxies, false information, or other means to bypass a provider restriction.

We may restrict or discontinue access to a model when required by a provider, law, security concern, or operational condition. Provider-side availability, retention, training, and output rights are not controlled by AnRouter except where a written agreement expressly says otherwise.

5. Acceptable Use

You must not, and must not help another person to:

  • Use the Services unlawfully or violate another person’s intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights.
  • Create or distribute unlawful exploitation, malware, credential theft, fraud, impersonation, targeted harassment, or content prohibited by applicable Provider Terms.
  • Attack, disrupt, overload, scrape, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the Services, another account, an upstream provider, or connected infrastructure.
  • Bypass rate limits, billing, content controls, regional restrictions, key permissions, or other technical safeguards; or conduct adversarial testing against the Services or upstream models without written authorization.
  • Reverse engineer the non-public Services except where applicable law expressly permits it.
  • Sell, transfer, or sublicense an account or API key, or operate a public downstream gateway or resale service, unless your plan or a written agreement expressly permits it.
  • Misrepresent your identity, authority, affiliation with AnRouter or a provider, or the source or capabilities of model output.
  • Use the Services in a regulated or high-risk activity without the qualifications, approvals, human review, notices, and safeguards required by law.

6. API Use, Changes, and Availability

You are responsible for client concurrency, timeouts, retries, idempotency, key permissions, balances, budgets, model selection, and safe handling of partial or failed responses. Rate and usage controls may apply at account, key, group, plan, model, route, provider, or security layers.

We may change technical limits, disable an unhealthy route, substitute routing, reject unsafe or abusive traffic, or perform planned or emergency maintenance. Unless a written enterprise agreement states a service level, the Services carry no uptime, latency, support-response, or capacity guarantee.

Documentation and status information are provided to help integration but may lag a provider change. You should implement reasonable fallbacks and verify changes before production deployment.

7. Your Content and Zero Data Retention

“API Conversation Content” includes prompts, messages, system instructions, uploaded text, files, images or audio, embedding or reranking source data, tool arguments and results, and model-generated responses. As between you and AnRouter, you retain any rights you have in your input. You grant AnRouter a limited, non-exclusive right to process and transmit API Conversation Content solely as necessary to provide, secure, and troubleshoot the in-flight request.

AnRouter does not retain API Conversation Content.

We do not store it in application databases, request or response logs, analytics systems, support systems, or backups, and we do not use it to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or improve any AI model. Transient request buffers are removed when processing completes or fails.

If you voluntarily send content to a contact form, email, or support ticket, that submitted copy is Support Data rather than API-path content and may be retained to resolve the request. Never send an API key to support.

The selected upstream model provider necessarily receives content to generate output. AnRouter’s zero-retention commitment applies to systems controlled by AnRouter; provider-level or end-to-end zero retention applies only when expressly identified for the route or in a written agreement.

Details are in the Privacy Policy, which controls if these Terms conflict with it about our handling of Personal Data.

8. Outputs and Important Decisions

Outputs are generated by third-party models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, offensive, unsafe, outdated, or non-unique. The same or similar output may be generated for other users. AnRouter does not verify output and makes no representation that it is factual, lawful, original, or fit for your purpose.

As between you and AnRouter, and to the extent permitted by applicable law and Provider Terms, AnRouter claims no ownership in output generated for you. Provider Terms and applicable law may independently affect ownership or permitted use.

You are solely responsible for evaluating outputs and implementing appropriate human review and safeguards. Do not rely on output as the sole basis for legal, medical, financial, employment, housing, education, credit, safety, critical infrastructure, or other high-impact decisions.

9. Your Data and Compliance Obligations

  • You must have all rights, permissions, notices, and legal bases needed to submit input and instruct us and the selected provider to process it.
  • Do not submit secrets or Personal Data that are unnecessary for the request. If content contains another person’s image, voice, biometric information, confidential information, or regulated data, obtain all legally required consent and authorization.
  • If you make the Services available to end users, provide your own accurate privacy notice and terms, and remain responsible for their activity and your downstream product.
  • A data processing agreement, data-residency commitment, provider-level zero-retention commitment, security schedule, or regulated-industry term applies only if signed or expressly incorporated into your enterprise order.

10. Pricing, Credits, Subscriptions, and Payment

  • Prices, model rates, group multipliers, exchange rates, plan fees, included credits, and processor fees are those displayed in the dashboard or checkout when the relevant purchase or usage occurs. Rates may change prospectively.
  • Usage is measured by the applicable token, request, time, image, audio, tool, or other billing unit. You are responsible for charges generated by authorized use of your account and keys.
  • Credits are prepaid service units, not bank deposits, securities, or stored cash, and are not transferable or redeemable for cash unless required by law or expressly stated at purchase.
  • A subscription renews automatically only when checkout clearly states automatic renewal. You may cancel future renewal using the available account or support channel; cancellation does not reverse charges or usage already incurred.
  • Promotional or included credits may expire under the terms shown when granted. Plan benefits, downgrade behavior, and unused included allowances follow the offer displayed at purchase.
  • Payments may be handled by third-party processors. Taxes, currency conversion, network fees, and payment-provider rules may apply.
  • Refunds are available only where required by law or expressly allowed by a posted refund term or written agreement. Unpaid balances, failed payments, or improper chargebacks may result in suspension.

Review usage and invoices promptly and contact us without unreasonable delay if you believe a charge is incorrect.

11. AnRouter Materials and Feedback

The Services, software, interfaces, documentation, design, branding, and site content are owned by AnRouter or their respective licensors and are protected by applicable laws. These Terms grant only a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Services in accordance with these Terms; they do not transfer ownership of AnRouter materials or third-party models.

If you voluntarily provide suggestions or feedback, you grant AnRouter a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use it without restriction or payment. Feedback does not include API Conversation Content or your confidential business data.

12. Confidentiality

Each party may receive non-public information that is marked confidential or should reasonably be understood as confidential. The receiving party will use it only to perform or receive the Services, protect it with reasonable care, and disclose it only to personnel and service providers who need it and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

Confidential Information does not include information independently developed without use of the other party’s information, lawfully received without confidentiality duty, or made public without breach. A party may disclose information when legally compelled, and will provide notice where legally permitted.

API Conversation Content is treated as your confidential information while it is processed in flight and is subject to the zero-retention commitment in Section 7.

13. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Services and may request account closure. You remain responsible for charges incurred before closure. Unused credits are handled under the refund terms applicable to their purchase and mandatory law.

We may limit, suspend, or terminate access immediately where reasonably necessary for security, fraud, abuse, non-payment, legal compliance, Provider Terms, protection of the Services or another person, or a material breach. Where practical and lawful, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address a remediable issue.

Sections concerning payment, ownership, confidentiality, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, disputes, and other provisions that by their nature should survive will remain effective after termination.

14. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES, MODELS, PROVIDERS, DOCUMENTATION, AND OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” ANROUTER DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE SERVICE, ANY PARTICULAR UPTIME OR LATENCY, CONTINUED MODEL AVAILABILITY, OR THAT OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, SAFE, OR SUITABLE. MANDATORY RIGHTS THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED REMAIN UNAFFECTED.

15. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANROUTER AND ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, DATA, BUSINESS, OR OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES, A MODEL PROVIDER, OUTPUT, OR YOUR APPLICATION, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THEIR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID ANROUTER FOR THE SERVICES GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY OR (B) US$100.

These limits do not apply to fraud or wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that applicable law does not permit to be limited.

16. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, if you use the Services for a business or organization, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AnRouter and its operators, affiliates, licensors, and service providers from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your input, output use, application, end users, breach of these Terms or Provider Terms, unlawful conduct, or infringement of another person’s rights. This section does not require indemnification for a claim caused by AnRouter’s own unlawful conduct and does not apply where responsibility cannot legally be shifted to you.

17. Disputes, Changes, and General Terms

Before starting formal proceedings, contact us with a description of the dispute and requested resolution. The parties will attempt in good faith to resolve it for at least 30 days, unless urgent relief is reasonably necessary.

Unless mandatory law requires otherwise, the governing law and competent forum identified in the operator’s legally published business information, your order, or an enterprise agreement will apply. If none is identified, governing law and jurisdiction are determined under applicable conflict-of-law rules. These Terms do not waive non-waivable consumer rights.

  • We may update these Terms as the Services, providers, prices, or law changes. Material changes will be notified before taking effect where required; continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
  • An enterprise order, data processing agreement, or service schedule controls over these Terms only for the specific subject matter it expressly covers.
  • You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, or transfer of the Services.
  • If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
  • Neither party is liable for delay caused by events outside reasonable control, including upstream outages, network attacks, natural disasters, labor disputes, utility failures, and government action, except for payment obligations already due.
  • These Terms and incorporated written terms are the entire agreement about the Services and replace prior discussions on the same subject.
